Dr. Taghreed Jamal Al-deen

Dr. Taghreed Jamal Al-deen is an associate research fellow for the UNESCO Chair, Cultural Diversity and Social Justice at the Alfred Deakin Institute for Citizenship and Globalisation. Taghreed holds a PhD from Monash University.  Her doctoral research examined migrant mothers’ involvement in children’s education. In this research she looked at issues of education, migration, ethnicity, class, gender, motherhood in Islam and multiculturalism. She is currently working on a project looking at career aspirations of Australian young Muslim women in higher education. Taghreed’s research interests include: inequality in education, class and migration, gender in Islam, and ethnic and religious diversity.
