Jobs and Opportunities

The UNESCO Chair for Cultural Diversity and Social Justice is welcoming new research fellowship and internship applications for 2026.

If your research interests align with UNESCO’s vision for peace and you would like to be part of a small but dedicated team, we want to hear from you!

Research fellowships

We welcome expressions of interest for short-term visiting research fellowships.

Expressions of interest should:

    • outline a research program that aligns with the research aims of Chair,
    • include any relevant partners or networks involved, and
    • be made at least two months prior to the proposed commencement of the visiting fellowship.

Visiting researchers are offered access to a desk and IT facilities, as well as Deakin’s library. They are also encouraged to participate in events and activities hosted by the UNESCO Chair, including seminars, workshops and symposia.

We invite you to complete the online UNESCO Visiting Fellowship Expression of Interest Form. If you have any questions, please email the UNESCO Chair Team at unesco.cdsj@deakin.edu.au

Internships

The UNESCO Chair welcomes internship applications, from anyone who:

  • has, or is near to completing, a postgraduate qualification, and
  • whose research interests align with the UNESCO Chair for Cultural Diversity and Social Justice.

Please note that this internship is unpaid.

Successful applicants receive access to the Deakin University library and an allocated work station.

To apply, please fill out the UNESCO Chair Internship Application Form. If you have any questions, please email the UNESCO Chair Team at unesco.cdsj@deakin.edu.au
