Now in its fifth year, the annual UNESCO Chairs Oration was delivered to a full house at Deakin downtown. This years speaker was the Australian Race Discrimination Commissioner, Dr Tim Soutphommasane. He spoke on the theme of middle class racism.
“those fortunate enough not to experience racism have a role to play and need to take a stand.”
Dr Soutphommasane is a preeminent thinker in social justice, cultural diversity and human rights.
