An Australian Research Council (ARC) Linkage Grant of $381,761 has been awarded to Professor Fethi Mansouri from the Alfred Deakin Institute for Citizenship and Globalisation for project on ‘Mapping Social Services Provision for Diverse Communities’.
The three-year project will also involve Dr. Matteo Vergani and partner organisations such as the Australian Muslim Women’s Centre for Human Rights Inc., the Victoria Multicultural Commission and the Ethnic Communities Council of Victoria.
The project will consider the provision of social services in multicultural societies, one of the major factors that affects immigrants’ integration experiences. It will also assess the experiences and impact of social services on social inclusion, citizenship and human rights for migrant groups which will provide empirical evidence for help governments plan policies and improve social inclusion of these groups through the effective provision of these important social services.
