What does Tunisia look like seven years after the revolutions of 2011?

The North African country instigated what is referred to as the ‘Arap Spring’ when Tunisians took to the streets after the self-immolation of street vendor Mohamed Bouazizi. Despite many achievements since 2011, the country also faces hurdles, such as high unemployment, in its transition to democracy. All this and more was discussed on ABC radio when UNESCO Chair for Cultural Diversity and Social Justice Fethi Mansouri spoke with RN’s Phillip Adams earlier in February.

A Tunisian delegation recently visited Australia’s shores in December to enhance democracy education and capacity among youth leaders, a project supported by the Council of Australian Arab Relations and the UNESCO chair.
